Technology
Our e-axle technology employs a mild hybrid approach that requires a small battery to keep cost down while providing substantial fuel savings.
As illustrated in the above plot of energy consumed over a trip (EPA’s LA92 drive schedule for heavy duty trucks), a hybrid trailer equipped truck expends 21% less fuel (152 MJ, in green) compared to a regular truck (193 MJ, in blue). Energy lost to heat is also correspondingly less (74 MJ vs 117 MJ).
